Since Gun Lake opened in 2011, any guest that wanted to stay overnight when visiting the casino had to find accommodations at a secondary location. The hotel will add a nice amenity to the casino property. Once the Phase 5 expansion plan is completed, it is expected that new options will bring an additional $650 million to the local economy. More details about the new hotel and resort should be shared during the groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday. The goal of the expansion is to transform the property into the entertainment destination of the Midwest. If the project is completed on time, then guests will have access to the new amenities in March 2025. The expansion plan was first revealed by the casino operator in April of last year. The plans include a brand-new 15-story hotel with over 250 guest rooms plus an aquadome that will offer guests three pools to choose from when visiting.
